Restoration 1978 FJ40
March 23, 2007- VIDEO UPDATE. The upholstery has been completed as well as few tune-up type issues. The Cruiser runs fairly smoothly, but could use a re-built carburetor. Overall this is going to be a nice Cruiser to start out with. More to do in the years to come, but this is a very good starting point! February 21, 2007- The seat upholstery process is almost complete. The used jump seats had some bad paint color on them, so we took a little extra time to sand and paint these seats…they look much better with very little effort. February 20, 2007- We are back on this restoration project at the customer’s request to do a few more things. Watch as we remove and install new upholstery to the front bucket and rear jump seats. The customer will be purchasing a used set of jump seats from Cruiser Solutions. We will be installing our upholstery kits in black. A new set of Toyo tires will also be installed on the stock rims. The customer is still undecided on the front bumper that Cruiser Solutions will custom build. January 2007- This 1978 FJ40 has been through a "partial" restoration. This Cruiser was sent to Cruiser Solutions with the interest in driving it quickly. However, it would have never passed state inspection due to an extremely poor body tub. There were many holes throughout the floor that made it an inspection issue. The owner decided that our Aluminum Tub was the best answer. We also preformed frame work, brake work, and well as a few other engine tune-up issue to this Cruiser. It may not look pretty, but it sure is more solid.
