Restoration 1987 FJ60

May 18, 2007- VIDEO UIPDATES- We have paint color on most all of the Land Cruiser! Watch the videos to see the progress.May 11, 2007- VIDEO UPDATES- Body work seems to be the big issue with this Land Cruiser. Very very little rust if any, but it does have a number of "dings and dents" throughout the Cruiser. Nothing major, just little dimples that would show if not taken care of. The doors are now in paint color…boy does that stock red color look good, bright, crisp. Watch for the rear hatch to be done as well as other section of the main Cruiser. April 27, 2007- VIDEO UPDATE- We begin the process of restoration to this FJ60. We have started by removing all the trim pieces fron the body so that we can sand, do body work, and then paint the entire Cruiser. The Cruiser will remain a stock factory RED color. This will look nice. We will paint all the door jams to to give a very thorough and complete finish to the entire paint process. Wewill use PPG basecoat/clearcoat for the finish. Better than the original single stage paint that tends to fade very quickly…especially the red color. February 20, 2007- Today this Cruiser was delivered to Cruiser Solutions from Maine via New York City. This Land Cruiser has been family owned for many years and is now passed down to the next generation for future use at the family home in Maine. This FJ60 needs many issues addressed to make it a dependable daily driver to explore the vast coast of Maine. Items to be addressed will be the following; a major tune-up, carb rebuild, various replacement engine items(alternator, starter, water pump, etc), a new Old Man Emu suspension, rims and tires, carpet kit, maybe a used seat or two to address some old worn out upholstrey, and in the distant future a fresh coat of paint. Watch as Cruiser Solutions helps to keep a family tradition on the road for many years to come.
